Well bear season is in full swing here in Whistler. With the late Spring many of the regions bears are down in the valley feeding on fescue grasses, dandelions and skunk cabbage which has yet to materialize on the mountains. The video below is an overview of the guest experience at the Whistler Golf Club during bear season. We have worked very hard to keep their natural food sources available by growing up our naturalized areas and not cutting back berry bushes. Brother Twang entertained Whistler’s Mountain bike riders at the weekly Toonie Race hosted by Summit Sports and the Whistler Golf Club. The Range opens April 22nd!!
April 12th, 2011Well mother nature has won the battle this year but our crew is hard at work getting the course ready for the 2011 season. Even though we are only 1.5 hour drive from Vancouver the 2200 feet of elevation creates a much diferent environment for preparing a golf course. Currently we have anywhere from 6 inches to 2 feet of snow on the course but the crew has cleared all the greens and tees.
Our greens were cut for the first time today and with a month to go before opening day we look forward to welcoming spring to Whistler. Click here to checkout our Facebook fan page with photos of our spring preparations to date.
